The objective of NMMS Scholarship is:

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the NMMS Scholarship are as follows:
- Applicant should be studying in Class 8 in a government, government-aided, or local body school.
- applicants should score at least 55% marks in Class 7 and SC/ST students can get 5% less.
- Family income must not be more than Rs. 3,50,000 in one year.
- No other Central Government scholarship should be taken.
Note: Students of Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and private schools cannot apply.

- Two tests are given: Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
- MAT has 90 questions to check reasoning and thinking skills.
- SAT has 90 questions from physics, social studies, and mathematics.
- Each test is of 90 minutes. Extra time is given to disabled students.
- At least 40% marks in both tests are needed. SC/ST students need 32%.
- Required academic level must be kept for getting the scholarship.
- Final selection is based on performance in the state-level test.

To apply for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship 2025, follow these below mentioned steps:
Step 1: All the applicants who are eligible for the scholarship program are requested to visit the official website of National Scholarship Portal to begin with the application process.

Step 2: On the homepage, the students has to click on Students option to proceed with the registration process so that you can register under the portal if you are a new user or else login to the dashboard.

Step 3: You will reach on another page, here you should click on OTR (One Time Registration) if you are a new user an then select “Register” option to fill out the registration form carefully to get registered.

Step 4: Once you are registered under the portal you should then log in using your OTR ID (you received at the time of registration process) and then enter password to access the application form.
Step 5: Application form will appear on your screen, you have to fill it out carefully with the required details such as personal details, contact details, academic details etc.
Step 6: And then you also have to upload the necessary scanned documents along with the application form to proceed further for the application process.
Step 7: Before submitting the application form review it carefully and verify all the entered information.
Step 8: And finally click on “Submit” button to complete the application process, after successful completion you will receive the application number, keep it safe with you for future use.
