Selection Criteria
The selection for the PM Scholarship is based on some important rules:
- Eligibility Requirement: Students must meet all the eligibility conditions.
- First Preference: Children and widows of soldiers or Coast Guard personnel who were killed in action.
- Second Preference: Children of soldiers or Coast Guard personnel who were injured in action and had to leave service due to their disability.

Registration Procedure under the NSP Portal
To apply for the PM Scholarship, students must register on the NSP portal by following these steps:
Step 1: Visit Website – Go to the National Scholarship Portal.

Step 2: Open Student Tab – Click on the Students tab to start registration.

Step 3: Click Login – Click on the Login button under the “OTR (One Time Registration)” section.

Step 4: Register – Click on the Register tab to continue.

Step 5: Read Guidelines – Tick the check-boxes after reading the instructions, then click “Next”.

Step 6: Register Mobile Number – Type your mobile number and click “Get OTP”.

Step 7: Verify OTP – Enter the OTP received, solve the Captcha, and click the “Verify” button.
Step 8: eKYC– Enter the Aadhaar number (student’s or parent’s), click “Get OTP”, and verify.
